In 2022, we acquired Indian drug and food wholesaler licenses, enabling us to provide total support from local research to import, export, sales, and operational management. Based on the channels we have developed through our past efforts with hospitals, doctors, manufacturers, wholesalers, and others, we can support your expansion into India.

Creation of medical information databases
We have created databases of medical supplies (approximately 200 manufacturers and 49,000 items) and published these in the form of a dictionary of medical supplies, of which 10,000 items are listed. The dictionaries are distributed to approximately 8,000 hospitals throughout India. All products listed are given a 2D barcode, a first in India, to develop a medical information infrastructure. To date*, the hospital and doctor databases contain information on 50,000 hospitals and 75,000 doctors, respectively. Utilizing these three information platforms, we will contribute to the expansion of Japanese medical-related companies by further developing the distribution network for medical supplies and drugs and through unique proposals by Carna Medical Database Pvt. Ltd.’s, which combine the data from hospitals and doctors across India.

Total support from the research phase to the sales and operational management phase
Carna Medical Database Pvt. Ltd., a provider of medical-related services in India, has Japanese and Indian staff, so it is possible to work with local hospitals and doctors as well as Japanese clients. Based on our knowledge of the Indian medical industry, which we have accumulated since our establishment in 2013 through a number of efforts to resolve issues related to the management structure and distribution infrastructure of the Indian medical industry, as well as the excellent relationships we have established with the Japan and Indian governments and medical institutions, we are able to offer customized proposals to each client in order for Japanese companies to expand in India.

Examples of issues consulted by Japanese medical-related companies
On August 26, 2022, we acquired a “food wholesaler license“ from the Food Safety and Standard Authority of India of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and on August 29, we acquired a “drug wholesaler license“ from the Food and Drug Administration in Haryana, India. While there are many consulting companies and wholesalers in India, we are one of the first Japanese companies to provide services ranging from local research to import, export, sales, and operational management.
