Temperature-Controlled Storage Service
What Is the Cold Chain?
You may have come across the terms “temperature-controlled logistics” or “the cold chain” before. They refer to the system that manages and distributes products that require temperature management such as fresh foods, frozen foods, and pharmaceuticals, and maintains the required temperature (through refrigeration, freezing, or temperature control) from production to the point of consumption.
Proposing temperature-controlled logistics tailored to customer needs, under strict temperature management
To meet our customers’ diverse needs, we have established warehouses in major cities, offering four temperature ranges: Frozen storage (-18℃ or below), refrigerated storage (0 to 10℃), temperature-controlled storage (10-15℃), and ambient-temperature storage. In addition to thorough temperature control, expiry date management and location management are strictly carried out through our warehouse management system, ensuring product quality is maintained while achieving efficient management of inventory. We primarily store food products, but we also handle other products that require temperature control such as chemicals. At our logistics centers located throughout Japan, we operate a storage system in accordance with our customers’ scale and needs, providing safe and stable storage services.
-
POINT1
Our temperature-controlled logistics centers are located throughout Japan. Each center undertakes a wide range of operations at every stage of distribution, from storage and inbound/outbound handling to distribution processing and transportation and delivery.
-
POINT2
By utilizing a temperature-controlled warehouse licensed as a bonded storage facility, imported cargo can be stored prior to customs clearance, allowing payment of customs duties and consumption tax to be deferred until the time of clearance. In addition to improving cash flow, this allows for a flexible storage plan based around the timing of customs clearance.
-
POINT3
Finely-turned inventory management is achieved through the KONOIKE warehouse management system (KWMS). We pursue operational efficiency within our warehouses and consistent work quality.

11 Temperature-Controlled Logistics Centers Throughout Japan
With 11 locations across 8 prefectures (Hokkaido, Miyagi, Saitama, Kanagawa, Shizuoka, Aichi, Osaka, and Fukuoka), our food logistics centers are fully equipped with freezing and refrigerated warehouses. Logistics processing is carried out at these centers, from product storage and inbound/outbound handling to repacking, assorting, and sealing. Consultation is available on a range of topics, including storage and review of logistics costs.

KONOIKE Warehouse Management System (KWMS)
With our proprietary inventory management system (KWMS), even companies without inventory management systems can easily manage their inventory. Inventory can be easily checked via the Internet. In addition, by carrying out picking and inspection work using handheld terminals linked to the KWMS, we can provide services of extremely high accuracy and quality compared with visual inspection alone.

Bonded Warehouses
Our company is fully equipped with temperature-controlled warehouses that are licensed as bonded storage facilities. This allows for adjustments to the timing of payment of customs duty and consumption tax at the time of import, resulting in improvements to cash flow. In addition, it also enables us to offer flexible storage plans in accordance with the timing of customs clearance.

Delivering Safe and Reliable Food Distribution
Our company has established a thorough management system to maintain the quality and safety of food products. In addition to strict management of expiry dates and manufacture dates through our warehouse management system, temperature management is carried out via computer, and we can also provide prompt submission of temperature records. We also perform thorough hygiene management through daily cleaning and inspections of equipment, and we also operate a food defense system via security cameras, as well as entry and exit management. Additionally, in the unlikely event that an issue occurs with a product, we maintain a traceability system that can promptly identify the affected product and lots, as well as their storage location, and shipment destination.
