Drone
Using drone technology to deliver a wide variety of services
We utilize drones to reduce work risk and improve work efficiency. This enables us to both increase on-site safety and productivity, while also creating new added-value and contributing to the expansion of new businesses. We have also opened a JUIDA-certified drone training school that is open to the general public, where we provide education to encourage human resource development and the popularization of technologies.
Temperature inspection of belt conveyors
Temperature inspections are conducted on belt conveyors to prevent fires due to abnormal heating of conveyor belts. When the rollers that turn and support belts fail, roller heat can cause a fire. Although inspection is highly important work, the wide range of inspection required means that a lot of human resources and time are needed.
Measurement of by-products and raw material inventories
Raw materials such as coal and iron ore and the slag produced in steelmaking processes are transported to a yard for temporary storage. This service helps measure the amounts of materials in such piles. Accurate measurements help with raw material reception and shipping, as well as the management of storage space. This contributes to smooth operation and appropriate inventory management at steelworks. Visual measurements rely on the experience and expertise of individual workers, which leads to variation in results and requires a large amount of work.
Spraying coatings on piles of raw materials
This refers to the work for spraying chemicals on the surface of coal piles used in steelmaking to stabilize the surface layer. The main purpose of doing so is to create a chemical film on the surface of the raw material piles, which limits the dispersion of dust and reduces the impact on the surrounding environment. In the past, chemicals were sprayed using a large sprinkler truck, which had problems spraying certain areas due to the water cannon used. This meant it was difficult to evenly coat entire piles of coal.
Building Roof Inspection
Degradation in the buildings of steelworks can lead to damage and defects in the roofs or corridors. With conventional inspections, it is necessary to erect safety scaffolding and check problems directly, or use an aerial work platform. Both of these methods require intensive work to ensure safety and are highly inefficient.
